Swim Team Week Two! Time Trials! Photos and Party and Ribbons, Oh My!!

The weather is looking great for our first full week of practices. As always, if the temps dip or storms roll in, be on the lookout for an email from Coach Lynze about practice cancellations. Typically we’re swimming if it's above 70 degrees and there’s no thunder/lightning or heavy rain.

If you have any questions or concerns about your swimmer (strokes, practice/lane placement, etc) feel free to talk to Coach Lynze at practice or to reach out via email. It is her goal to help your child LOVE swim, and there are often easy changes she can make to keep your swimmer happy and in the water.

This week is our only non-Monday meet, Time Trials! On Wednesday, swimmers will participate in a practice meet at home. Even if your swimmer does not feel fully confident in a particular stroke, they may be assigned to swim all four strokes in this meet. This allows us to get a baseline time and to assess for stroke legality prior to the dual meets. This meet is fun, quick and casual, essentially a swim team scrimmage. And since this meet is a little quicker, we have a couple of other activities to add to the night…

Team and Individual Photos! Legends STL Photography will be returning once again to take individual and team photos prior to the meet. Individual photos will start at 4, with the goal of lining up for the group photo at 4:45. Even if you do not want to order photos, we’d love to have your swimmer in the team photo! Photo orders can be completed ahead of time using the link below (closes 24 hours prior to shoot), or on the day of. You can also print the form attached below and bring it with payment on the day of. Legends STL will also have reps, displays, and order forms available on site. Please try to arrive and be ready for photos as soon as you’re able. No swimmers will be allowed in the pool during the photo session. Warm ups will begin as soon as the team photo is complete.

Post Time Trial Party! Our favorite pool side DJ will bring the beats starting as soon as the last race wraps up. Bring your cooler, have dinner delivered to the pool, or enjoy the concession stand treats.

Ribbons! We know our swimmers love to get those ribbons! Our volunteers will be hard at work organizing folders and cutting/labeling ribbons this week. Please be patient, we probably won’t have the ribbon box ready to roll until next week.
